최선을 다한 넌 받아들이겠지만 서툴렀던 난 아직도 기적을 꿈꾼다

추석연휴 불구 이번달에도 월100만원을 만회해 보자는 각오로 오늘은 긴장감을 갖고 이른 시간 뜨는 콜을 잡겠노라 다짐했다. 명절 직후 불목이라 저녁약속도 많아 보였고.

첫 콜은 통의동 까사이태리아 근처 현대차의 그랜저 소유주가 직장선배님과 날 기다리고 계셨다. 동선을 완전히 뒤집는 경유가 아닌데 2만원을 주신 고마운 분. 현대차의 싼타페 이야기 기아의 ev6와 ev9이야기를 하실때는 한말씀 드리고 싶었지만, 꾹 참았다. 열로하신 부모님의 요양병원, 요양원, 간병인 등의 경험을 서로 나누시는 것도 곁에서 잘 들었다.

나름 약속의 땅 자양 성수 일대 건대근처에 랜딩했는데 후속콜이 없다. 이대로 귀가 하기엔 조금 이르고 여전히 돈이 고팠다.
2호선을 타고 약속의 땅 강남으로 향하며 이쁘고 외롭게 빛나 보이는 한강 영상도 찍었다.

세빛둥둥섬에 가자는 재밌는콜을 잡고 모셔드리고 캡티브 한강공원 후속콜을 잡겠다는 나름의 계획으로 제네시스 만석의 손님들을 모시고 가는길은 교통정체가 상당했다. 서울관광 오신분들인데 반포2주차장 말고 1주차장에 내려 드렸다. 잠수교며 바라보기엔 이곳이 더 낫고 편의점도 바로 옆이라고 말씀 드리며 주차하고 반포 터미널쪽으로 총총.

jw메리어트 라는 호텔에서 기다리시는 손의 부름을 받고 달려갔더니
가락동을 먼저 갔다가 청담으로 다시 가달라며 삼만원 대신 오만윈을 주셔서 의도치 않게 연장근무를 하게 됨.


그리고 명일동에 있는 고덕주공9단지 손님을 귀가 시켜 드렸다.
일본 메이커 20여만 킬로를 주행한 인피니티 모델 같았는데 운전대가 뻑뻑하게 느껴지는게 나도 현대차 기아에 많이 길들여진 것만 같았다. 소비자는 냉정하고 헌대차 기아는 그동안 참 많이 혁신했구나 새삼 또 한번 느꼈다.

Despite the Chuseok holiday, with the resolve to make up that extra 1 million won this month, I was determined to stay alert today and catch any early calls. It was a Thursday night right after the holiday, so there seemed to be a lot of dinner appointments.


For the first call, the owner of a Hyundai Grandeur was waiting for me with his senior colleague from work near Casa Italia in Tongui-dong. He was a kind person who gave me 20,000 won even though the stopover didn't completely reverse my route.


When they were talking about the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia's EV6 and EV9, I wanted to say something, but I held my tongue. I also listened in as they shared their experiences with nursing homes, care facilities, and caregivers for their elderly parents.



I landed in what I consider the land of opportunity—the Jayang and Seongsu area near Konkuk University—but there were no follow-up calls. It was a bit too early to head home, and I was still hungry for money. I took subway line 2 towards another land of opportunity, Gangnam, and filmed a video of the Han River, which looked beautiful and lonely as it shone.



I got an interesting call to Sebit Dungdungseom. With a plan of my own to drop them off and then catch a follow-up call from the nearby Han River Park, I drove the customers, who filled up the Genesis. The traffic was quite heavy. They were tourists visiting Seoul, so I dropped them off at Parking Lot 1 in Banpo instead of Lot 2. I explained that it was a better spot for viewing Jamsu Bridge and that the convenience store was right there. After parking, I hurried off towards the Banpo Terminal area.



I got a call from a customer waiting at the JW Marriott hotel and rushed over. They asked me to go to Garak-dong first and then back to Cheongdam, offering 50,000 won instead of 30,000 won. So, I unintentionally ended up working overtime.



After that, I drove a customer home to the Godeok Jugong Apartment Complex 9 in Myeongil-dong. The car seemed to be an Infiniti model from a Japanese maker with about 200,000 km on it. The steering wheel felt stiff, which made me feel like I've become very accustomed to Hyundai and Kia cars. It once again made me realize that consumers are discerning, and Hyundai and Kia have truly innovated a lot over the years.
