하얗게 불태웠다

빌리언달러코드 라는 넷플릭스 시리즈를 보면서
식기세척기와 세탁기를 돌리며 생각했다.
천국 아닌가.
빨래와 설겆이를 동시에 하면서
티비로 이런 엄청난 드라마를 볼 수 있다니!
구글어스보다 더 혁명적이잖아!
이런 내가
급구앱이라는 어플을 통해
잠실 한 식당의 주방보조를 하러갔다.
내 목표는 오늘 설겆이 내가 다 끝낸다 였는데
처음보는 살림이고 함께일하던 친구도 제대로
교육받지 못해 우왕좌왕 한 삼할 한 것 같다.

반 미친듯이
식당이란 곳에서 물한잔도 못 마시고 일하고
455백원을 벌었다.
싹 다 정리하고 나오고 싶었지만
그러지 못했다.
우리는 함께 일했지만
한팀이 아니였고 쿨하게 시간이 되면
인사하고 헤어지는 그런 시대가 되었음을 절감했다.
쪼개기 노동에 팀은 없다.
플래폼노동이라 내일 또 출근하지 않아도 된다.
1993년 선진국 독일에서도 인터넷이라는 개념이 통하지 않았다.
2025년 10월 추석연휴
세상이 이만큼 달라졌음을 몸소 체험했다.
하얗게 태웠다.

While watching the Netflix series 'The Billion Dollar Code' and running the dishwasher and the washing machine, I had a thought.
Isn't this heaven?
To be able to do laundry and wash the dishes at the same time while watching such an incredible drama on TV!
This is more revolutionary than Google Earth!
And yet, here I was, this same person, on my way to work as a kitchen assistant at a restaurant in Jamsil, a job I found through an app for urgent hires called "Geupgu."
My goal was, "I'm going to finish all the dishwashing today."
But the kitchen setup was unfamiliar, and the person working with me hadn't been properly trained either, so we just fumbled around. I feel like I only accomplished about 30% of what I set out to do.
I worked like a man half-crazed in that place called a restaurant, without having a single sip of water, and earned 45,500 won.
I wanted to clean and organize everything perfectly before I left, but I couldn't.
We worked together, but we weren't a team. I keenly felt that we now live in an era where people just coolly say goodbye and part ways when their time is up.
There are no teams in gig work.
And since it's platform labor, I don't have to go back to work there tomorrow.
In 1993, even in a developed country like Germany, the concept of the internet wasn't understood.
Now, during the Chuseok holiday in October 2025, I experienced firsthand just how much the world has changed.
I burned myself out completely.
