A record-breaking day! I made ₩83,000 from Coupang Eats deliveries today. ₩53,000 from 17 deliveries with an average delivery fee of ₩3,100, plus a ₩30,000 mission bonus. It's probably because it's the 3rd day after the November closing, so most companies have many employees working late to close their accounting books. On top of that, President Yoon's state of emergency seems to have impacted motorcycle delivery drivers' efficiency, leading to more orders for me.
I forgot to bring a mask and bumped into Suk-mi, my senior from law school. I knew this day would come, but I didn't expect it to happen so suddenly. A partner lawyer coming out to pick up food? Sejong's organizational culture is quite democratic. I avoided eye contact and turned away as if running away, hoping she wouldn't recognize me.
First, Yoon-sik asked to borrow money for litigation fees, and now this encounter with Suk-mi... The world is indeed a small place, and life is full of ups and downs.
I think I rode my rented bike for about 3 hours. Towards the end, I did 3 more deliveries through Baemin, earning an extra ₩14,000. One of the customers had a new Genesis G80 with only 9,000 kilometers on it. I ended up acting as their designated driver to Pungsan-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi-do. It took over an hour to get there, and since it was past midnight with over an hour to get home, I took the subway. Naver Maps said it would take 14 minutes, but I arrived in 6, getting home comfortably. It wasn't the last train, but the next one wasn't for another 20 minutes.
Thanks to today's work, I got a good workout and made more money. Today was another day to be grateful for.

기록적인 날이다. 쿠팡에서 17건 53천원 건당 평균단가 31백원, 미션보너스로 30천원으로 총 83천원의 매출을 올렸다. 아마 11월 마감 +3일째라 대부분 회사에서 회계 마감한다고 야근하는 인원들이 많았을 것 같고 윤대통령 비상계엄 여파까지 더해져 오토바이 배달기사들의 배달 능률이 상대적으로 떨어져 일감이 더 몰린 덕분인 것 같다. 와중에 마스크를 못 챙기고 나왔는데, 결국 숙미 선배와 직접 마주쳤다. 이런 날이 올 줄 알았는데 이렇게 무방비로 당할 줄은 몰랐다. 파트너 변호사가 직접 음식을 받으러 나오다니 세종의 조직문화가 무척 민주적이다. 설마 못 알아보겠지 하며 눈을 못 마주치고 도망치듯 뒤돌아섰다. 윤식이 형은 얼마 전 소송비용을 빌려달라고 하더니, 이번에는 숙미 선배를 만나고.. 세상은 참 넓고도 좁으며 인생사 새옹지마.. 자전거 대여기준으로 약 3시간을 돌아 다닌 것 같고 막판에는 배민으로도 추가 3건을 배달했다. 14천원 추가 수입에 현대 제네시스 G80 모델로 보이는 9천킬로를 달린 새차를 소유하신 손님을 모시고 대리기사가 되어 경기 하남의 풍산동까지 모셔 드리고 집까지는 1시간 넘게 걸리고 1시간 뒤면 자정이 넘는 시각이라 지하철을 탔다. 네이버지도상 14분 걸리는 거리를 6분만에 도착해 여유롭게 귀가했다. 막차는 아녔지만 다음 배차간격이 무려 20분이 넘었던 것 같다. 오늘도 덕분에 운동을 꽤 했고 돈도 더 벌었다. 오늘도 감사한 하루다.
